Only in Afghanistan?

Shortly after the invasion of Afghanistan by the American led coalition in November 2002, we were shown, here in France and all over Europe and the US, a video of the public execution of an Afghan woman in Kabul. All dressed in black, she was shot right in the head with a bullet from a Kalashnikov. Those were gruesome pictures of course.

Where did that video come from? And to which purpose but to rally the western opinion in favour of this war by showing how barbaric and criminal these Talibans were? For sure, who would have the nerve to disagree?

Now, we hear of the fate of Romell Broom. Granted, he had committed rape and murder but I fail to see how less barbaric the American practice is when compared to that of the Talibans. The only difference is that in America they're eventually so ashamed of themselves that they don't have the courage to execute publicly their convicts (like in France since the 30's).

Also, in the country that never ceases to teach the whole world lessons of morality and preaching for people's rights, there's the case of Cameron Todd Willingham. How many Cameron T. Willingham has been executed in the US since, say, the beginning of the XXth century?

And you tell me the Afghans are atrocious barbarians? No kidding!
